Torana let out a laugh and took off the hat, putting it on the ground and well out of the way of her precious notes as she started moving around the rooms, trying to reset as many of the traps as she could from inside the common room as she could. She would go out later to check on the exterior ones to see what else the Hat had triggered and to collect a few things. She would need to collect many things to keep her traps in order. If there were people, she should probably actually arm the big traps so no one would come bumbling through her research.

"Protect? Custodian?" Torana asked of the hat on the ground as she moved about the room. "I live here! A bit of a large and dangerous house, this castle is, but it's glorious! I spent over a decade as a voice with no body, you know! Sort of. It was a very strange time. We met once back then, I think. And now that I have all these limbs again, I wanted to explore! But perhaps not too far. It has been a rather long time since I wasn't confined to another person. The lack of walls was... unsettling. This castle, though, it's the perfect home. Except for the monsters. Maybe even with them. They aren't so bad now that I know the patterns. I mean, you must know them by now too if you've been here as long as I have. Have you noticed how the boggarts have a bit of a moth-like migration pattern to them? Is that just me?"

Torana stopped, another trap in the wall clicking into place, and looked back at the hat. "You can't actually respond without being on my head, can you?" she asked, picking it back up and putting it on her head again. "You know, you really should have mentioned that before I took you off."
